Sanghar, Sindh – A shocking incident unfolded in Sanghar as 24-year-old Christian doctor, Sabar Masih, was found dead on the morning of February 10th in the Chak-36 Workshop area. Authorities have confirmed that he was brutally murdered, with visible signs of severe assault on his body.
Dr. Sabar Masih, a dedicated medical professional, had been running a private clinic in the area. According to his uncle, Dr. Izhaq, Sabar had left for work as usual on Monday morning, tending to patients at his clinic before heading to a nearby Muslim Jogi residential area for a house visit. When he failed to return or respond for a prolonged period, his family grew increasingly anxious.
Dr. Izhaq’s desperate search led to a grim discovery—Sabar’s body was found submerged in water. Residents confirmed that his remains had been discarded in the area, intensifying concerns surrounding the motive behind this tragic loss.
A formal police complaint has been lodged at the Workshop 36 Chak police station in Sanghar, with investigations now underway. While the exact reasons behind the murder remain uncertain, preliminary findings suggest that it could be linked to religious intolerance, given that the victim was part of Pakistan’s Christian minority community.
Sardar Mushtaq Gill, founder of LEAD Ministries Pakistan, an advocacy group supporting Christians, has strongly condemned the incident.
“This appalling act highlights the ongoing struggles faced by religious minorities in Pakistan,” said Sardar Mushtaq Gill. “We urge authorities to ensure swift justice for Dr. Sabar Masih and bring those responsible to account.”
The Christian community, along with human rights organizations, has expressed deep sorrow and growing frustration over the lack of safety and protection for religious minorities. Calls for justice and improved security measures are gaining momentum as the investigation unfolds.
As the search for the perpetrators continues, friends, family, and the broader community mourn the loss of a young doctor who devoted his life to helping others. His tragic death has intensified demands for greater protection and an urgent response to growing religious intolerance in the country.
